The ULTIMATE Nachos! (stoner meal to ...

Marijuana: No  |   Level: Easy  |   Views: 4676  |   Submitted by: 420_Chef  |   Category: Meal

Ingredients:
-1lb minced hamburger beef
-1 large bag of plain salted tortilla chips
-1 can of Mexican beans in water
-1 sachet of taco seasoning
-4oz boiled water
-1 jar of salsa
-Sliced pickled jalapeños, to taste
-Sliced pitted black olives, to taste
-A cup(ish) of shredded iceberg lettuce
-A cup(ish) of shredded cheese

Note: This recipe does not contain weed. Some stoners prefer weed-free munchies.
Directions:
What's the ultimate munchie food? Since you asked my opinion, the title would have to go to nachos - they're finger food, great to share with your buddies, easy to make, and have a wide-palette of textures and flavours; cheesy, spicy, crunchy. A taste sensation if I may say so. Imagine being able to recreate portion-sized American restaurant-style nachos at home. Perfect for planned stoner dinner parties, less practical for spontaneous stoner whip-ups because you probably wont have all the ingredients lurking in the fridge. However this is definitely a recipe that deserves some short-term planning and a quick visit to the grocery store to create.

First, heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet until singeing. Then, add your beef and use a wooden spoon to break it into it's minces and stir it round the pan. Once it you can't see any 'red' in the meat and it all looks 'grey,' stir in your seasoning sachet dissolved into the boiled water, then drain off your Mexican beans (pinto beans or kidney beans are the strong preference) and add them to the pan, now lower the heat and allow the content to reduce the thin excess liquid into a thick gravy.

Spread your bag of chips (I used plain Doritos) over a larger-sized baking dish, to it, sprinkle over your cheese (monterey jack is the favourite but mild-cheddar or mozzarella will do fine), place these into the oven at 425°F until the cheese melts (around 5-10 minutes, based on personal preference).

Once both components have finished cooking, stir one jar of salsa (I use Sainsbury's chipotle variety) into the beef mix, then spoon the meat over the cooked chips so that an even distribution is created. Top with the lettuce, again spread evenly over for a total covering. Then dollop on the sour cream into separate areas of the dish, and garnish with sliced jalapeños and olives.
Serve the ultimate munchie-inspired meal for all the family (or your stoner buddies) by serving each portion onto plates with serving spoons. Eat with your fingers and equipped with a paper napkin each, you're gonna need it!
