Wake+Bake Strawberry Doughnuts

Ingredients:

-8 Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits
-Half cup strawberry jam
-Half cup milk

-1 tablespoon corn starch
-1 tablespoon powdered or granulated sugar

-2 tablespoons maple syrup
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1.) Heat oil to about 375 degrees

2.) Flatten biscuit dough and make a hole in the center (note: 2 biscuits=1 doughnut)

3.) In a small saucepan heat milk and vanilla

4.) slowly whisk in jam, corn starch, sugar, and maple syrup.

5.) Continue to whisk on medium-low heat until the glaze becomes thick and then remove from heat.

6.) Fry doughnuts one at a time for about 1 minute and 30 seconds

7.) Immediately drop one side of the doughnut into the glaze

8.) Remove from glaze, dust with cinnamon sugar and enjoy
